Aquamat manufactures a complete line of backwashing filters that clean themselves by periodically rinsing away impurities they have filtered from the water. A backwashing water filter may look like a water softener, but it is entirely different, as softeners work on the principle of ion exchange while backwashing filters rely upon simple mechanical filtration and/or absorption. A backwashing filter is a simple device that consists of a large tank called a media tank, which is filled with a filtering medium such as granular activated carbon, iron removal media, AFM sediment media, or calcite. Aquamat offers these in a variety of standard sizes and configurations with pipe sizes ranging from 1” to 12” and everything in between. Our systems utilize automatic and manual valves to ensure efficient and reliable operation.
