Aquamat Sediment Filter (ASF) Manual
WATER QUALITY PROBLEM
In water supply systems are often observed turbid water caused by water pipe repair, disconnection or cleaning etc. Turbid water may contain sand, mud, iron, organics and various debris that clogs the system, affects the plumbing equipment, measuring devices and creates additional pressure losses.
GROUND WATER
SURFACE WATER
MUNICIPAL WATER
Solution
Aquamat ASF units are meant for reduction of mechanical impurities, it is based on filtration media that filters mechanical admixtures from water. These filters can be used in household and industrial systems, which use heavily mechanically contaminated water. Such water would be uneconomic to clean with traditional cartridge type mechanical filters because of their capacity being too small and would have to be changed very often.
Filter Performance
As a filtration media Zeolite is filled in two layers. The equipment is simple and operates continuously due to the Clack automatic valve, the valve initiates automatic backwashing / flushing periodically to ensure that the filter media stays in good condition. After rinsing, the filter media is recovered and is able to continue the water filtration process. The frequency may vary depending on water consumption and pollution levels. The process does not require any reagents or frequent costly filtration materials replacement
Equipment Maintenance
Electrical connection is needed. It is essential to ensure incoming and outgoing water connections, as well as wastewater discharge line.
Description
Feed water enters the unit and passes through the Sediment (Clinoptilolite) filter media to reduce and eliminate suspended solids. High sediment removal capacity results in longer filter runs, with a substantial savings in backwash water and time out of service. Periodically, the media is backwashed to remove any accumulated particulate matter. This process is fully automatic.
Floor standing reinforced fibreglass cylinder. Clinoptilolite deep bed filtration results in superior water quality
Clinoptilolite is a natural zeolite and used as a direct substitute for outdated filter sand in sediment filtration.
- Removes 40-50% more physical dirt than old, outdated sand systems.
- Removes cysts of cryptosporidium.
- Absorbs and reduces ammonia.
- Absorbs, holds and reduces harmful heavy metals such as lead.
- It can be regenerated and used over again.
